Tommy originally came from Ireland where he lived amongst the leprechauns. When the leprechauns got tired of him constantly banging on his drums, they banished him from living with them and told him to never return. While traveling around trying to find a place he could play his drums, he met The Professor who in turn introduced him to Iamoz. Iamoz told him, "I have the answer to your dilemma. Click your drum sticks together 3 times and you will become "Tommy If I Only Had a Brain Tom Tom", the drummer for The Surrender Dorothy Band who will travel all around Oz (and Indiana....)"
When Tommy is not playing with the band, he hangs around a graveyard.....
